Let me introduce you to Peyton who is a 2018 Ankeny Centennial High School Senior. We had the most gorgeous August evening for her session that ended with probably the best sunset I saw the whole summer…simply breath taking! Peyton was amazing to work with, so sweet and up for all of my crazy ideas. Thank you Peyton for the gorgeous images and good luck in the future!
This is Dallas Center Grimes high school senior Brody, who wanted to incorporate a few things he loves the most into his senior session: baseball, his dog, and his grandfathers old car. Which we were successful in getting all three into the session. I love when seniors have an idea what they want out of their senior pictures. Thanks Brody for such a great session and I hope you have a wonderful senior year.
This is 2017 Harlan Community High School senior Ashley that is a dancer, so we wanted to incorporate her love for dancing in her session. Ashley was a joy to photograph she was up for all of my crazy ideas and was so comfortable in front of the camera. Ashley thank you so much for all of the wonderful images and I hope you enjoy your senior year.
This is 2017 Ankeny Centennial High School senior Steve, who was amazing to work with. He was up for all of my crazy ideas and really knew how to pose, I told him he could have quite the future in modeling. Thanks Steve for being such a great sport and I hope you have a successful senior year.
Here is the Boatwright family that I have photographed a few times now, and can not tell you how much I love hanging out with them. They wanted to go with a fun edgy urban style so I came up with a few new spots for them, thinking we might have nailed this one. Love how these turned out for them!
Let me introduce you to Shea, a 2016 Harlan High School graduate. She is a cheerleader, flute player, and in flag core..so I wanted to make sure I represented all of that for her in a different and unique way. Shea you were amazing to photograph!
What a fun photo shoot this was for Sam’s senior pictures. She is an amazing singer, loves to play the piano, and is involved in show choir so we wanted to represent her greatest love! She found an old microphone so we could do some vintage urban style images along with doing some on the stage. We also located one of the old pianos that are located through out downtown Des Moines and let her have at it while I snapped away. Thank you Sam for being so willing to brainstorm with me to come up with these fun images! Good luck next year in college!
Here is how I kept myself busy through my down time this winter and early spring…friends shoots. Oh my what fun and crazy girls I got to hang out with. The temperature at these sessions ran from 18 degrees on snowy day up to 76 degrees…only in Iowa would this happen. I love to do both these kinds of sessions, both urban and snow sessions so it worked out great to keep myself busy. It was fun capturing the girls doing the serious look..but I think my favorite pictures from all of these sessions are the outtakes when girls are laughing and being goofy, because isn’t that what friendship is all about. I am so glad that the girls not only had fun but also got to make memories with their best friends that will last a life time.
Another one of my favorite families! This is the Troll family who I have photographed at least five times, and ever time it is an adventure (or at least the parents think so…the kids and I have a blast together). We got in on the tale end of the fall foliage in November before it was all gone and before the snow decided to fall. We also squeezed in Miss Nora’s one year cake smash in my studio. Thank you as always Troll family for being so entertaining and one of my favorites!
